yesss8 (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey gang! Danny here with a scammer I caught earlier today. yesss8 was advertising that they were giving away the items on their list in their den.

I checked their list, which contained 2 long purple spiked collars and 1 long pink spiked collar - a lot to be giving away. I went to their den and waited around for them to return.

When yesss8 came back, they announced that it would be a trust giveaway.

They said that everyone who would be participating in the trust giveaway should buddy them, as they were about to lock the den. This is a common tactic in scam giveaways, as the scammer can simply unbuddy somebody to lock them out of the den if they start to catch onto the scam.

I didn't plan on participating in the giveaway of course, but I buddied them so I could stay and find out what was up. They explained how the trust part of the trust giveaway would work, telling us that we would trade them an item and they would give it back.
This is a scam for a variety of reasons, the first and foremost being that there is absolutely no reason to give somebody an item if you expect them to give it back immediately after. This also serves no purpose in fairly choosing a winner, as, even if this was a legitimate giveaway, only people who already have rare items to trust with would have any chance of winning. Any so-called "giveaway" that involves giving the host any of your stuff is nearly always a scam.

They replaced the spikes on their list with some trust fodder and some people began to cautiously start trading.

I asked yesss8 repeatedly if the person who sent the best trade would win the spikes, as they didn't clarify that in their original explanation, but they didn't answer. I then tried to ask them why we were the ones trading them if this was supposed to be a giveaway. Before I could get much more out, they unbuddied me and locked me out immediately.
Make sure to report yesss8 for scamming. Remember to stay safe and never accept a trade you don't like!

-Danny
