Report Scammers

As of November 7, 2021, AJSASS is closed indefinitely and as such the Scammer Report Form is not accepting any new submissions.

If you have evidence of an attempted or successful scam you witnessed take place, we would be happy to make a post on our blog for you! Just read and fill out the AJSASS Scammer Report Form with all the information and evidence you have.

Please note that your report form must provide evidence of the scam taking place, and if your report form does not provide good enough evidence, we will be unable to use it and it will not be posted. Please follow the below guidelines in order to make sure your report form gets accepted and posted.

We would prefer you to give us screenshots over videos. If you are submitting a video, try to make it short and not blurry. We will be taking screenshots from the video when we go to make a post.

Your submission may be rejected/deemed unusable for any of the following reasons:

All evidence provided is blurry and/or illegible
If we can't tell what is being said or can't make out any usernames, we can't make a post. Please take actual screenshots/recordings instead of taking photos/videos of the screen with a phone or camera. If you don't know how to take screenshots, this link will show you how.

All pictures provided have unnecessary markings on them
Please do not mark or draw on your pictures, as we won't use pictures that have markings on them. We will blur out/censor usernames when we make the post, you don't need to do it for us.

Evidence provided does not actually show the scammer scamming
The evidence you submit must actually show the scammer attempting to scam others. Pictures of the scammer's player card or trade list, out of context JAGs, players saying things that do not indicate scamming, players saying nothing, players' inventories, or any other pictures that do not explicitly show the scammer attempting to scam do not themselves act as any proof of the scam taking place, and as such cannot be used as evidence in a post. If you only submit images of this kind, your submission cannot be used.

Pictures provided do not give the scammer's username
If none of the pictures provided include the scammer's username, your report form will not be usable. This includes if the photos provided don't include usernames, or if the scammer is a New Jammer and none of the photos show the scammer's actual username.

Submission is of an obvious spare account
We try to avoid making posts about obvious spares/"alt" accounts, as the scammer made them with the expectation that they'd be banned, so the alt getting banned won't affect the scammer in any way. Please don't submit them unless they have a helper with them who appears to be someone's main account. You'll know it's an alt if they have very few achievements. If you encounter these scammers, simply report, warn those that are there, and move on.

Severe lack of pictures
Please take more than 1 picture of the scammer. Even if said scammer was actually scamming in the photo, if there's only 1 photo and no follow-up we will likely not have enough info to post.

Low-quality testimony
If your testimony does not clearly explain the summary of your encounter with the scammer, we will not be able to use it to create a post. We will need to expand on your testimony so that it is long and detailed enough for a post. You must be as detailed as possible, as we were not witnesses to the scam ourselves and cannot fill in additional details for you. If your testimony is vague, short, confusing, missing key details, contradictory, or just overall difficult to understand, we will not be able to use it to write a post.

If you follow all of these guidelines, your report form will likely be made into a post.

    1. Hi,
We're sorry to hear you were scammed! There unfortunately isn't anything we can do unless you have evidence of this person scamming. We will keep an eye out for them if possible though!

    1. Sorry, but we can't make a post about a scammer without evidence of them actually scamming. If there is no proof, I'm afraid there isn't much we can do.

    1. If you have solid evidence of the scammer scamming (see this page for info on what is considered not good enough evidence), submit a Scammer Report Form.

Also, in the future, don't make 3 separate comments saying what could be said in one comment. Make sure you've included everything you want to say before making a comment.

  9. Hello today I have been scammed by Zeldabestpug. I don't have a lot of evidence but my friend Snowflake760a14 might knows more because she was there too. I unfortunately lack photos.

The scammer said they were doing wheel but didn't do that immediately, instead said: Trade me items that I would like. I traded 2 vikings hat over and supposedly another person traded a spike. I'm not fully sure what my friend traded over but they also did too. After sometime they finally did the wheel. A spike was then given over to the one who had traded a spike to the scammer. Before we began the 2nd wheel, another person asked the scammer if they can have their items back. That's when the scammer went AFK ( I think ). On my screen the scammer wasn't saying anything but, the other people were talking and saying congrats. On the 3rd wheel, that's when everyone started saying give my items back please, including me. But the den was immediately close after and supposedly a different person had also lost their black long to the scammer.

  10. Good Afternoon,
I submitted a report form about a week ago. Their username was Jammershrek99999. I have not been notified or seen the post? I submitted my name to be Dogo. I do not know any reasons why not to post it; I submitted 7 screenshots (for the proof). Thanks!

    1. Hi,
We're sorry for the inconvenience! Don't worry, your submission is sufficient enough for a post and it will be published eventually. However, it is somewhat far back in the queue of scammers submitted to us through the form (you only submitted it a week or so ago), so it may take us a while to get around to it. Rest assured, we'll get to it soon.

    2. Hello,
Okay. Thanks for telling me! Also, I encountered the scammer during May or so, but only post it in August or September or so. I just don't want to make it seem like you were too late encountering it lol

  11. How long does it take for a scammer form to be approved? Is there any way to know if your form has been approved and posted?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There isn't really a set amount of time it can take, but we do our best to get to usable forms in a reasonable time. We usually give precedent to submissions of scammers that are not obvious spare accounts, since there is more value to posting scammers who scam on their main accounts.

  12. Hey, I saw someone trying to sell Animal jam items. Should I send a report in? I have some pictures with their user and achievements.

    1. Hi,
While selling AJ items in exchange for real currency is against the rules on its own, there isn't a way for us to know if someone who's doing that is actually scamming. We can't really make a post about people like that because we don't have evidence of them actually scamming people. While we advise against engaging in the buying/selling of AJ items simply for safety purposes and to lessen the chance of your account getting banned, there really isn't much we can do personally to enforce that. That's AJHQ's business, not ours.
If you see a player advertising a place that sells items for real money, the best thing to do is just to report them for safety and block them.

  14. Hello,
I have encountered a scammer, but I need to send many, many, MANY pictures, and I can only send 10 at a time. Should I only keep a couple screenshots and not send the others, or should I send many forms?

    1. We prefer not to post a very large amount of images in a post and only keep it to what is strictly necessary, but if you really think that you need to include that many pictures, you can upload them to an image sharing site like imgur (you can use imgur to upload multiple pictures at once, so I would recommend that) and then include the link to the pictures you uploaded there in the form.

    2. Does Pixlr Editor work like that too? Imgur is site-blocked on my chromebook. My chromebook is managed by the school, so they can block videos or sites (such as instagram or something).

      Delete
    3. No, Pixlr is solely for editing pictures. If Imgur doesn't work for you, you could also upload them to another image sharing site like Photobucket or Dropbox. If that also doesn't work for you, you could just compile the images into a single image file like a collage and we will crop them out when making our post.

If you want to apply to become a member of AJSASS, please check out our Joining page.
We have a variety of links to our Discord server around our website, and none of them seem to be expired. If the sidebar widget does not work for you, there is also a link listed under the widget and on our Joining page.

    1. None of the links connected to our server appear to be expired. Which invite link are you trying to use? This is the one linked on our Joining page: https://discord.gg/fXxHWax
You can only join our server through an invite link we provide, if that's what you are asking. If you are inquiring about joining AJSASS as a member of our team, please see the information about applying to join provided on our Joining page. Joining our Discord and joining AJSASS are not the same thing.

    1. You are going to need to be more specific, in what way is it not working? If you mean that you can only see certain channels, that is how it's intended to work. When you first join the server, you can only view a limited number of channels before verifying yourself by answering the questions in the welcome channel.
If you mean that you cannot send any messages, that's because our Discord has a certain level of auto-moderation that restricts who can send messages. You will need to have verified the email address that is attached to your Discord account, and your account must be at least 5 minutes old in order to talk.
If you cannot view the other channels, please verify yourself in the welcome channel. If you cannot send a message in that channel, then please check your email and look for the verification email sent by Discord. You should be able to use the server then.

    1. Please see my above comment in regards to your Discord "not working" (and please refrain from posting many comments at a time). Yes, a Discord account is a requirement to join AJSASS, since nearly all the communication between our team is done on our Discord server. You must either have a Discord or be willing to/able to create one on top of the other requirements listed on the Joining page.

    1. Hi,
If your post has enough proof and substance, we will use it to make a post, which you will eventually see published on the blog. We do not use all submissions for a variety of reasons (listed on the page). You will not receive any kind of notification if your submission is or is not used for a post.
If you realize after submitting it that you have more proof, you are welcome to submit it a second time with the parts that were missing.

    1. Hi,
If you are referring to our agent application, then yes, you are welcome to submit a new application every 3 months if you are rejected.
If you are referring to our scammer report form, you are welcome to submit as many scammers as you want, though there is no guarantee that all submissions will be used.
