Animal Jam Special Agents Stopping Scammers, or AJSASS for short is an Animal Jam-based anti-scamming group. Our society was founded in February 2017 by the currently retired Agent Is. The society is run by a team of volunteer players who share the same goal of making Jamaa a safer place. On November 7, 2021, we announced the official closure of AJSASS and have ceased all operations indefinitely.
Please note that we are NOT affiliated with WildWorks/AJHQ in any sense.
What We Do
Our main priority is confronting scammers! Members of our team go around in-game on the lookout for players who appear to be attempting to scam others. We intervene and do our best to diffuse the situation and ensure that nobody gets scammed. We then write up a post on our blog with screenshots of what happened and a summary of the event.
We also make posts about general safety concerns in Animal Jam. Our goal is to raise awareness about the importance of protecting yourself and others from other players with selfish intentions.
Our Mission
We post about specific scammers for multiple reasons. For one, we do it so that viewers can report the scammer. It’s a common misconception that reporting a player doesn’t do anything, but that isn’t the case. If multiple players report someone for the same reason, the account will be suspended for a period of time, and further action may potentially be taken if it’s a repeat offense. It is unlikely that action will be taken against a scammer if only a small group of players know about them. So, the more people we reach, the safer we all can be.
We also post stories of scammers we encountered to raise awareness of how to stay safe in Animal Jam in general. We aim to raise awareness of what tactics scammers often use, how they are used to scam people, and how to diffuse the situation. We hope that this encourages others to stand up to scammers on their own, even if they are not a part of our team.
We DO NOT encourage you to attempt to track down and/or harass the scammers that we make posts of - please just report them, and if you want to, maybe block them.

Other Stuff We Do
Other than our usual scammer posts, we currently have two other ongoing series of posts we make on our blog: Random Saturdays and Agent Insights.
In Random Saturday posts, we write about anything interesting about Animal Jam or WildWorks in general. Some examples of such content are news updates and game opinions. Random Saturdays are published every Saturday.
In Agent Insights posts, we write more informative posts about scamming in AJ. We cover topics like different types of scams, how to avoid being tricked, scammed, or hacked, and more in-depth looks at how scamming works. Agent Insights were formerly published every Tuesday, but nowadays, we only publish them when we have something important to discuss.
How You Can Help
If you think you have what it takes to be a proactive, responsible, and helpful member of our team, you can send us your application on the Joining page. However, not everybody who applies will get accepted, and not everyone who wishes to help meets the requirements to sign up. You don’t need to be a part of AJSASS in order to do your part to stand up against scamming, though!
If you want to take action against scamming on your own, there are still ways you can do that. If you see a scammer, you can diffuse the situation yourself by stepping in, questioning their methods, and warning others not to engage with them. If you know of someone who is a scammer, you can tell your buddies to report them so that appropriate action is taken against their account.
If you have evidence of a scam taking place, you can also submit your proof to us via the form available on our Report Scammers page and we may be able to make a post about the scammer on your behalf. You can also make a page about the scammer yourself on the AJ Scammer Watch Wiki, which does not require you to sign up and be approved.

Post a Comment
Your comment must be approved by a staff member before it will show up on the blog. Please do NOT post your comment multiple times.
We will not entertain any comments that are posted with malicious intent. In that sense, we will not remove any post on a scammer until we have solid evidence showing that the scammer in question did not actually scam. If your comment is asking for a post to be taken down or implies that any posted scammer wasn't scamming, it likely won't be published.
Please only comment if you have something of value to contribute. Comments that are pointless or just plain incomprehensible will be marked as spam. If you have a question, please check our FAQ before asking.
