smilewillow (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey gang! Danny here with a scammer I caught yesterday. smilewillow was in Temple of Zios advertising for a giveaway in their den. It sounded kinda vague, so I went to their den to check it out.

After two more people arrived, smilewillow came into their den. They told us that whoever won the giveaway would win an item off of their trade list.

They had a lot of valuable items on their list, including a few flower crowns, a small table, a cactus, and even a wood floor.

They started to explain how the giveaway would work. smilewillow told us that if we bought something from their shop and JAG'd them when we did, we would be put onto a wheel, and whoever the wheel lands on would get a prize. On top of being very exploitable, this is also isn't a giveaway - it's gambling.

The shop they had set up for us to buy from had a few low-value items priced at 1 diamond each. Since the third person in the den had left, it was just me and someone else participating in the giveaway. I made it clear that I didn't plan on buying anything to enter, so the max amount of diamonds smilewillow would make from this would be just one, which is obviously nowhere near the worth of any of the items on their trade list. This made me incredibly suspicious, as they certainly had no incentive to actually give the items away instead of just putting them up for sale normally.

I asked them why we were paying to be apart of a giveaway, but they didn't really answer me. smilewillow said if I didn't buy something, the other person (who had already bought something) would win automatically.
smilewillow announced that the other player had won, and asked them to pick something from their list. The other player asked for the small table, and smilewillow told them to wait just a second.

Just when I thought this may have actually been a genuine giveaway, smilewillow locked us both out. I searched their name, and sure enough, the small table was still on their trade list.

I sent a JAG to the person who had "won" the giveaway and asked them if smilewillow had actually sent them anything. They replied and said they did not.

Report smilewillow for scamming. Be safe and always trade fairly!
