Joining

As of November 7, 2021, AJSASS is closed indefinitely and as such we are no longer accepting any new agent applications.

As a member of AJSASS, the biggest part of your job is to frequently go around in-game on the lookout for people who are attempting to scam others. You are required to get evidence of the event, either through screenshots or recorded video, confront the situation, and try and make sure the scam is unsuccessful. Then, you will be tasked with writing up a report of the event with your gathered evidence that will be published on our blog. To put it simply, if actively trying to prevent scams on the regular sounds like something you want to be involved in, this is the job for you! We specifically look for players who have an eye for detail and a knack for writing clearly and concisely.

We also make other kinds of posts on our blog that you will be scheduled to help write, such as Random Saturday posts which cover miscellaneous topics about the game. If you are a part of our team for a long time, you will have the opportunity to request a promotion to a senior agent rank, in which case you will have more of a say in which kinds of responsibilities you will have and which kinds of posts you will be writing. You are expected to try and be as active as possible and alert a staff member if you will be inactive for a period of time. We understand life can get in the way, and you are free to take as much time off as needed, but if you are not active very often in-game, this may not be the job for you.

This is an entry-level position, meaning you do not need any previous experience and we will provide all the training you need once you join. However, prior knowledge is always a plus! New agents will be given individual scam catcher training on our Discord server first thing after being hired, which they will have 2 weeks to complete. After completing your training, you will be promoted to the Gamma rank. Gammas will be scheduled to write a minimum of 1 - 2 posts each month, but you are absolutely encouraged to post any scammers you find while out and about.

You MUST meet the following baseline requirements to be a member of AJSASS:

You must have a personal email account (i.e. not a parent's email or a school email) that we can use to contact you and invite you to make posts on our blog
You must have a Discord account that you can use to join the AJSASS Discord server, or be willing to make one if your application is accepted (Discord can be downloaded to your computer or mobile device, or accessed through your browser on the official Discord website)
You MUST be at least 13 years old
Of course, you must be interested in the work that we do (confronting scammers and writing posts)

These requirements are final and we will not make any exceptions. If you meet all these requirements and this sounds like something you'd like to be a part of, great! Click the link below to fill out our agent application. Please take your time filling it out - we can tell if you rushed through and didn't read the questions!

If the details of being an agent don't sound like something you're interested in being a part of, that's fine too! You can still be involved in our community by joining our Discord server, commenting on our posts, submitting scammers you find to our Report Scammers page, and reporting the scammers that we post.

If you are a former member of the society who stepped down/was removed for inactivity and you are interested in rejoining our team, you may fill out this form instead.

  3. How much training will there be, how much a day?

    1. Every new agent is allotted 2 weeks to complete their training, as well as 2 chunks of 1 week long break periods they can use, during which no training will be done.
The individual trainers for each agent are part of the staff, so they are available most of the time. Because of this, responsibility mostly falls on the agent being trained to decide when they are ready to continue training. Some agents finish in a few days, while others take the full duration. It depends on how active and how committed you are.

    1. Hi,
We're glad you're interested in joining, but like it says in the job description, a Discord account is required. If you don't have a Discord, we would have no way to provide your training, and there would be no way for you to attend society events and meetings.

    1. Hey! Glad to see that you are interested in joining! Unfortunately, you need to have a working email to join the society. Without a working email, there's a good chance that your application would be denied. So, my recommendation is to try and fix your email first. Once it works, you can try applying!

    1. We appreciate your support nonetheless. Even if you can't join our team, you can still help out by reading our posts and reporting the scammers that we make posts about. If you find a scammer and you get proof of them scamming, you can send it to us through our Report Scammers page and we may be able to use your contributions to make a post!

    1. Hi,
Like it says on the application form, you are welcome to submit another application in 3 months' time if your application is denied. Additionally, you can respond to the email we sent asking for more details on why you were denied if you want feedback for next time.

  16. Hii it has been maybe 3-4 days since I entered for joining when do I know if I got accepted?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You will know if you got accepted if you receive an email saying that you got accepted. If you don't receive an email response, it could be due to the following reasons:

      1. You cannot make a discord account
      2. You submitted an application that was less than 3 months after your last application
      3. You don't have an email.

      Hope this clarifies!

  17. Hi. Ho do I know if i have been accepted?

    1. As it says on the application form, you will know if you have been accepted/denied when you receive an email from us. It can take us anywhere from 1 - 4 days to send out our response.
The exception to this is if you do not have an email, you cannot make a Discord, or your application was submitted before the end of the 3-month cooldown period, in which case the application is ignored and we do not send an email.
Please be patient and refrain from posting similar comments/questions repeatedly. This information is clearly posted in numerous places around our blog and on our application, and another staff member already replied to a previous comment explaining this to you.

  18. Hi, Danny! I did not realize but I submited my joining application 1 month early. Can i not take it in May now?

    1. I'm not Danny, but I'll answer your question anyways. Additional submissions before the buffer period are ignored, so you can just resubmit in May/whenever your cooldown ends.
