dukejaster (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey everyone! It's Danny here with a scammer that I found a few days ago in Jamaa Township. dukejaster was advertising that they were hosting a giveaway for some spikes at their den.

They had two spiked collars, a yellow short and a pink short, on their trade list that would presumably be the prizes for the giveaway. I went to their den to check it out.

Once more people arrived, dukejaster came back and explained how the giveaway would work. They said that participants would be offering trades for the RIM on their trade list, and they would accept the trade twice, and then decline at the last minute.
This is essentially a new-school version of the old flash trading tactic from before the trading system was updated to be more scammer-proof. You send a trade for a bad item, accept it, and then decline it as the trade is about to be processed.
This is nearly always a scam because it doesn't serve any meaningful purpose in actually choosing a winner of the giveaway. The point is usually that the best trade the scammer receives "wins", but this is an extremely unfair way of deciding a winner, as only players who already have rare items to trade with will have any chance of winning. There is also absolutely no reason to trade someone your items if you don't actually want to give them your items. It would be way easier and more efficient to do a draw or a wheel or something.

dukejaster replaced the spikes on their trade with some rare Musketeer boots and people began trading.

I asked them why we were trading them, and how exactly this was going to help determine a winner. I asked them multiple times, but they ignored me the entire time. I tried to tell others not to trade them via JAGs, but this didn't seem to deter them from trading.
A few minutes into the scam, one of the participants spoke up and said that dukejaster had scammed them. While we were trying to ask how they got scammed and what they lost, they suddenly disappeared from the den.

dukejaster continued to count down until the giveaway was over, but didn't really say who was winning. When time was finally up, all of us were locked out of the den.
I sent the person who claimed to have been scammed a JAG asking if they had left the den or if they had been locked out, and they told me dukejaster had locked them out after taking their items.

Make sure to report dukejaster for scamming. Stay safe and always trade wisely!

Random Saturday Ep 51: Tiny Shop (AJPW)

What's up everyone! Today, I present your next episode of Random Saturdays! Today's topic is about the Tiny Shop in AJPW, so without further ado, let's go!

Sometime after the phantom dimension was released, this shop in Appondale started to exist. Yes, this shop is in Appondale!

The entrance to this shop is located at the right side of the Appondale tree. It is located below where the wind chime is hanging, and to the left of the three tall grass in the picture above. The door is very small, and regular sized animals will not be able to get into it.

Therefore, to get into the shop, you will need a specific potion. The shrink potion will shrink you to a size small enough to be able to fit through the tiny door in the tree. The shrink potion may be ontained through the daily spin or through the phantom salesman in the phantom dimension.

There are six items that you can get in the tiny shop. They are the tiny wings, tiny pillbox hat, tiny backpack, tiny cowboy hat, tiny tiara and the tiny bowler hat. All these items fit well on your tiny animal, but once you become big again, they will bet too small! You still can wear it, but they are so small, its hard to see them!

That's all from me today, until the next post!

Slushieflamingo (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hello, readers! It’s Rose with a fresh new post! With our scammer report form, Ella reported this scammer, SlushieFlamingo.
They were advertising an under trade of 25 solids for a LPHD, and Ella told them a scam-free method that SlushieFlamingo refused to follow and rebutted it with a method that is most likely a scam.

The scammer refused to trade Ella so that they could see SlushieFlamingo’s username, however they found it in their JAGs.
Report SlushieFlamingo for scamming and avoid scams like these!

Thanks for reading, Rose <3

Fuzzycolors (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hello! Agent Quacc here with another scammer. I found Fuzzycolors advertising in Jamaa Township that they're giving away a free black spike.

Once they arrived, Fuzzycolors said that there would be a "dup group" in their den.
If you don't already know, "dup" in this context means to duplicate. Fuzzycolors claims that they can duplicate any item if it is traded to them, and then will presumably give the items back. This is an uncommon method of a scam. It's almost like trust except they give you a reason to justify it. Even if they really were duplicating items, having items that are obtained by cheating or hacking on your account will most likely lead to your account being banned, even if you weren't the one who hacked them in.

They then used another popular scam tactic by buddying everyone and locking their den. This allows the control of whoever is in or who they want to leave. I buddied them to continue to warn the others in the den and to see what method they would use.

Fuzzycolors then put a necklace on their trade list and started asking people to trade them the items that they wanted to be duplicated, saying we'd have to trust them to return the items after.

They tried to selectively make the jammers who were warning others to leave but was a little slow. They unbuddied me and a lot of others then locked us out.

Don't forget to report Fuzzycolors for scamming!

Oceangirl667 (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey everyone! Danny here with a scammer I saw yesterday in Jamaa Township. Oceangirl667 was advertising that if you bought something from the shop in their den, you would get a free spike and spiked wristband.

I went to their den and checked out their shop. There was only one item for sale, a very much overpriced pet puppy for 10 diamonds. I was very skeptical of this offer, especially since Oceangirl667 didn't have a spike, or any very rare items for that matter, on any of their animals. If they really had two spikes, why would they give them out for a measly 10 diamonds when spikes are most often priced at many hundreds of diamonds?

I sent Oceangirl667 a JAG asking if I could see the spikes, as I was curious if they had them at all. They responded by telling me that I would only see them if someone buys from their shop. This is very suspicious, and if Oceangirl667 actually did have the spikes to give out, it would be an insanely shady business practice. Why would you not tell your customers exactly what they get as part of the special offer you're putting on? Nobody would want to purchase anything from you if you're super vague about what they get in return.

I sent them another JAG saying that I wanted to know what color they were, but they did not respond to me. I went to their Jammer Wall to try and contact them there, and I decided to scroll up a bit out of curiosity. I saw a bunch of messages from another player from the previous day repeatedly warning others to "not do it" and to report Oceangirl667 for scamming. They said that Oceangirl667 had locked them out of the den, presumably after scamming them.

When I checked Oceangirl667's player card to JAG them again, I noticed they had logged off. The pet puppy for sale in their shop remained untouched.
Make sure to report Oceangirl667 for scamming!

ihaveaspikeandimnew (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey everyone! Danny here with a scammer I caught yesterday. I saw ihaveaspikeandimnew advertising in Jamaa Township that if you traded them something good enough that they accepted, you would win a black long.

They had the black long on trade, but were actually asking people to trade for the lower value item, the Spider Mask, instead.

This is a scam because there is no reason to trade for one item, when you are expecting to get another. ihaveaspikeandimnew had the black long on trade, and was allegedly going to give it somebody, but instead of trading for the black long directly, they were asking people to trade for a different item. This would, of course, give them ample opportunity to just run off with your side of the trade without giving you the item you were promised.
I asked ihaveaspikeandimnew why people couldn't just trade for the spike directly, and another person also asked how we were supposed to know they'd actually give the spike in return. They ignored us for a little bit before simply telling us that we should just trust them.

They continued to ignore us, but thankfully it didn't seem like anyone was actually falling for their scam. They left a few minutes after.
Make sure to report ihaveaspikeandimnew for scamming.

cupcakelpsaj (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey gang! Danny here with a scammer I encountered yesterday. cupcakelpsaj was advertising in Jamaa Township that they were giving away the items on their trade list in their den. I went to their den to check it out.

Their trade list consisted of a spring phantom headband, peacock feathers, and a glitched red holiday sweater. A good sum of valuable items to be giving away for free.

I waited around in with several other people in the den until cupcakelpsaj returned. They then started to announce the rules of the giveaway. They told us that there would be no begging and only the winner would get their list, and they also asked us to be happy for the winner and specifically told us not to call them out as a scammer. Last of all, they told us that we could leave if we didn't like how the giveaway was going, and that we had to do what they said.
This sounded incredibly suspicious right out the gates - if this was a genuine giveaway, they wouldn't have to specifically tell us not to call them a scammer.

They then asked us all to buddy them before the giveaway could start. This set off immediate red flags for me. Scammers hosting scams in their den will often ask participants to buddy them so that, if anyone even alludes to the fact it might be a scam, they can lock them out immediately.

I wasn't going to participate, but I buddied them anyway so I could stick around and see what was up. They then replaced the giveaway prizes on their trade list with some store-bought items.

They started to explain how this "giveaway" was going to pan out. They explained that it was going to be trust, which means that participants would trade the scammer items, and then have them returned, and whoever trades the best items will win the giveaway.
This is nearly always a scam for a multitude of reasons - why would you trade someone your items if you expect them to be given back immediately after? How does giving the host rare items actually determine a winner? Why does the trade actually have to be accepted? It really doesn't make any sense if you think about it for a second, but it's one of the most popular scams currently.

Somebody traded cupcakelpsaj, and presumably declined the trade before it went through. This prompted them to explain that the participant didn't do it correctly, and told them they had to accept the trade twice, and then cancel it.

This isn't possible. If you are sending someone a trade, you will not get the chance to accept it twice. You send the trade, and if the other person accepts it, then both of you have to accept it again, and then it goes through. This tactic of asking people to "accept twice and then decline" deliberately preys on people who aren't fully aware of how the trading system works. It's meant to trick people into accepting a trade they believed they would get the chance to decline.
Myself and other people in the den asked cupcakelpsaj why we couldn't do another giveaway method, such as a wheel or a draw instead. Their answer to this was simply "idk", and telling us again that we should leave if we didn't like it.

Only one person was actually trading cupcakelpsaj, everyone else had caught onto the fact this was a scam and I had JAG'd everyone asking them to report them and not to trade. The sole participant had apparently had their trade accepted, and nobody else was trading, which would mean they were the winner of the giveaway.

cupcakelpsaj asked them to put a low value item on trade so they could receive their prize, so they did.

However, cupcakelpsaj instead unbuddied us all and locked us out of the den.

I checked the trade list of the person who had "won" the giveaway, and sure enough, the low value item they planned to trade for their prize remained on their list.

Make sure to report cupcakelpsaj for scamming. Stay safe and never accept a trade you don't like!
