Random Saturday Ep. 80: Eco Items in AJPC

Hey everyone! This is Clover here with another episode of Random Saturdays! This week, we will be talking about the Eco Items in Animal Jam Classic.

Eco items were first announced on July 2nd, 2020 in the Jamaa Journal. Any player who logged on at least 5 days during the month would receive an Eco Wind Turbine, which is worth 10 Eco Points when placed in your den.

With Eco Points, you can generate Eco Credits (every 10 Eco Points generates 1 credit every 6 minutes), and with these, you are able to buy more Eco Wind Turbines and Eco Solar Panels (known as Eco Generators) in order to gain more Eco Points.

On August 13, 2020, it was announced that new Eco Items were entering the Eco Shop, including the Eco Ground Light, Eco Salt Lamp, as well as many others. Unlike the Eco Wind Turbines and Eco Solar Panels, these new items, known as Eco Consumer Items, would instead consume Eco Points when activated.

You can also earn Eco Plaques with your Eco Points. When you reach 30 Eco Points, you will earn the Wood Eco Plaque, you will earn the Silver Eco Plaque when you reach 50 Eco Points, and finally, you will receive the Gold Eco Plaque for 100 Eco Points.

That concludes this episode! Be sure to have fun on Animal Jam, and thank you for reading the newest edition of Random Saturdays!

Midnitedragon18 (AJPW)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey everyone! Fera here with an AJPW scammer submitted to us by an anonymous user. Midnitedragon18 asked the submitter's child to trade them a pet duck and promised to give it back later. When it was time to trade the duck back, Midnitedragon18 said that they will give back the duck only if the submitter's child trades them their best item.

This is a type of trust trade when the scammer asks the victim for an item and promises to give it back later. When the time comes to give it back, the scammer could ask the victim to give the best item that they have. Sometimes, the scammer may not even contact the victim again.

Please report Midnitedragon18 for scamming and don't trust anyone with your items, even if they promise to give the item back later.

pinnochio1234 (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hiya everyone, Blossom here with my first scammer post! This scammer was one I encountered in Coral Canyons the other day. They were advertising a "secret giveaway" at their den, not consisting of any of the items on their list.

This sounded fishy to me, so I went to check it out. After 6 or so people went to their den, pinnochio1234 returned and proceeded to ask how we were doing.

After everyone answered, pinnochio1234 continued by saying that the prize would be worth more than a spiked wristband, and that they like to do giveaways "in fun ways".

One Jammer in the den tried to warn others about the possibility of pinnochio1234 trying to scam. They were locked out of the den immediately.

Pinnochio1234 then said that the giveaway was best trade wins, a very common yet effective scam. To quickly summarize it, the scammer puts bad items on their trade list and asks you to trade them something good. Usually, the scammer claims that they will accept the trade and then return your items. In most cases, they just take your items and leave.

They then explain that they are doing an accept, accept, decline method, where the Jammer accepts the trade twice, but then declines quickly before the other person can accept.

I tried to stall the scam by asking as many questions as possible, and then continued to play along with it.

After pinnochio1234 explained how the scam worked, almost all of the jammers in the den left except for one. That jammer then traded the scammer a wrist, and pinnochio1234 said it was "better item wins". I tried to trade them a RIM, but they declined and said I had to do more.

After hearing this, I confronted the scammer and was immediately locked out of the den.

Please report pinnochio1234 for scamming, and make sure you avoid falling for these types of scams by only using the trading system for fair trades. This is Agent Blossom signing off, and remember to stay safe and play pawsome!

rock3323 (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hello! Sunny here with another scammer post. rock3323 was reported using our scammer report form by a user that would like to be known as Nova. Nova was in Jamaa Township when they saw rock3323 advertising that they were giving their list away.

Nova was suspicious of rock3323 because they didn't have many achievements, and seemed to be a spare. They also only had one pet on their account.

Nova went to the den, and people were already there. After a while, rock3323 came into the den and people starting asking how the giveaway worked. rock3323 said it was flash trading, which is a scam. In this method, the scammer will ask you to trade something good and they will say they will decline, but they will actually accept.

rock3323 started explaining what it was and people started calling them a scammer.

rock3323 saw that people were calling them a scammer and said that they would lock out anyone who said that. People asked why, and they replied saying it was rude.

Nova started to play along and said that they were nervous that someone would get scammed. They then came in with a spare and started to warn people about the scam, but they got locked out. People started to trade rock3323 and some began getting locked out. rock3323 said that the people leaving either left on their own or they had locked them out because they were under 2 rims. However, at least one Jammer locked out of the den had been scammed of their spike.

Nova buddied rock3323 after the scam to keep an eye on them. Later that day, they saw that rock3323 was advertising again. Nova went to check it out again, but they got locked out. They went back on a spare account and started telling people it was a scam. rock3323 said it was flash and used the same scamming method as earlier. After a while, rock3323 randomly locked everyone out of their den and went offline. Nova could not confirm if rock3323 had a main account involved.

Don't forget to report rock3323 for scamming and stay safe!

saltyj00l101 (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey guys! It's Pluto back with another scammer report. This scammer was submitted by a jammer named Nova. Nova was in Jamaa Township when they saw saltyj00l101 promoting some sort of "trading game" at their den. saltyj00l101 also added that it was for a video and that you should only come if you were okay with that. Nova was intrigued as they had never heard of a trading game, so they entered saltyj00l101's den with caution.

Once Nova entered the den, they noticed other Jammers (not including saltyj00l101 and themself) had come to the den as well. There were an eagle and another bunny according to Nova. The other bunny quickly announced that it was likely a scam, but got locked out almost instantly after they said that. That seemed very fishy but Nova stayed to see what was going to happen. saltyj00l101 explained that the rules of the game were "simple". All you had to do was trade them, and saltyj00l101 would trade the items right back after. Which for all of you that don't know, is a common scam called "trust trades". It's basically when someone asks you to give them your good items for an in-store or nonrare item in the promise of giving it back. Usually, they promise spikes or headdresses to go along with them, but not in this case. Nova asked "is this trust" and to no surprise, saltyj00l101 said, " I guess".

When Nova asked what the purpose of this "game" was, saltyj00l101 responded that there was no defined reason. With this piece of information, Nova put together that this was definitely a trust scam. But they still needed more information to solidify their claim.

After a little bit of time, the eagle that was in the den with Nova traded saltyj00l101, and almost instantly after they finished the trade, they were both locked out of the den. Nova talked to the eagle after and they were scammed out of a non-specified rare item.

Well, that's all jammers! Huge thanks to Nova for submitting this scammer. Please report saltyj00l101 for scamming. If you would like to submit a scammer, please use the "report scammer" tab at the top of the blog. Make sure to stay safe and Play Wild!

Savannah4life (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hello! Quacc here with another scammer post. Savannah4life was reported using our scammer report form by a user that would like to be known as Nova. Nova was in Jamaa Township when they saw Savannah4life advertising that they were giving away a black long.

Nova went to their den out of suspicion and Savannah4life anounced that they would be finding a method by using a wheel. Scammers may say that they're going to use a wheel to find a way to give items away to help justify their scamming method.

Savannah4life then said that the wheel landed on troll. They replaced their trade list with a bunch of necklaces and jammers began to troll Savannah4life.

After a while, Savannah4life said that everyone was not "doing it right." Savannah4life then said that people were supposed to be accepting then declining at the last moment. This is essentially flash or accept, accept, decline which is a popular scamming method. If anyone had actually tried to do what Savannah4life said, they would probably accept unwillingly and would have their items scammed.

Other jammers caught onto the scam and informed the rest of the people in the den. Soon after, Nova was locked out, along with everyone else.

Don't forget to report Savannah4life for scamming and stay safe!

Sssneakywolf + Skunkuwu55 (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey all, Jade here! Today we’ll be discussing a couple of scammers caught by one of our senior agents, Clover.

A little over a week ago, Clover saw Sssneakywolf advertising a list giveaway at their den. They had a purple short collar on trade.

When Clover went to Sssneakywolf’s den, they announced that the method for the giveaway would be trust trading. Clover pointed out that it wasn’t really fair that the rarest people would win more rares, but Sssneakywolf did not reply.

During the first round of the giveaway, the participants were allowed to trade then decline. The two other people in the den began trading the scammer. Before the next round started, a new person named Skunkuwu55 came into the den and began saying that Sssneakywolf was their best friend and that they could be trusted. This account was likely an alt account of the scammer, but could also have been a scamming ally.

Sssneakywolf then announced the next round, in which you would get more points if you accepted the trade. They promised that they would give any accepted items back. Clover asked why they couldn’t just do a wheel giveaway, and Skunkuwu55 began to defend Sssneakywolf, saying that their best friend would never scam. Sssneakywolf additionally said that they would prove they weren’t a scammer by trading for one of Skunkuwu55’s items then giving it back. Before Clover could investigate further, she was locked out of the den.

Please report Sssneakywolf and Skunkuwu55 for attempted (and possibly successful) scamming! Watch out for people trying to pull similar tricks and don’t trust anybody trying to get your items off of you for even a second. Stay safe out there, Jammers!
