Oldcroissant + mgnewton (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hello there! It's me, Quacc, here with two more scammers that I happened to see in Jamaa Township. Oldcroissant was advertising that he was giving away her list.

His list was filled with long spikes of all kinds and his den was almost full by the time I got there. I already noticed that there might be a spare or alt in the den. Mainly because anytime a jammer said that Oldcroissant is a scammer, they got locked out and blocked, even when Oldcroissant was not in the den. After a while, he finally showed up and explained how the "giveaway" was going to work.

Oldcroissant then explained that the first round would be the first to jag (jam-a-gram) them a specific kind of jag would win a solid. This part of the giveaway is not a scam. The "first to jag" is usually a sign of an actual giveaway since it doesn't require risking any items. I still stuck around for the next round, just in case.

The seal with the sunhat ended up winning the challenge which sparked quite a reaction. During the entire giveaway, the seal (mgnewton) did not move or say a single thing. After a while, it seemed like mgnewton is a spare due to their inactivity during the entire "giveaway." Either way, jammers began to get suspicious.

Someone then noticed that Oldcroissant completely cleared their list and only traded mgnewton for a few seconds to give them the "prize."

Oldcroissant quickly came and tried to explain that he doesn't know mgnewton although, they never moved at the same time. mgnewton also only spoke when someone was suspicious. They both tried moving at the same time but, it was clear that they were moving one by one. Oldcroissant then explained the rules of the next round.

This is a prime example of using the scam method of "accept, accept, decline." Many jammers don't realize that you can only accept twice before a trade can be completely accepted. Some scammers may and convince you that you can still cancel right after accepting twice but, they usually accept before you can decline. Once jammers began to tell Oldcroissant that the method hints at a scam, he tried to defend himself.

Thankfully, after warning everyone, they all understood that it's a scam and I wasn't locked out. Keep in mind that mgnewton still has not moved or said anything at this point.

When nobody traded them, Oldcroissant quickly locked everyone out.

Even after a few hours, both accounts were still online doing another "giveaway." Don't forget to report Oldcroissant and mgnewton for scamming!

  3. Yes i was there too but i didn't get locked out maybe because Oldcrossaint thought i was his helper because i dressed up like Mgnewton so he didn't say anything because he thought i was his spare.
