cuddlechubby33 (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey gang! Yesterday, I encountered cuddlechubby33 in Coral Canyons asking people to trade for their tie, and if you traded something of enough value that they would accept, you would win the rest of their trade list.

The rest of their list in question included an orange long spike (they added a short green wrist later on) that would be the prize for getting them to accept a trade for their tie.

I asked why people couldn't just trade directly for the spike, to which they answered that it was just a challenge they were doing with their buddies to see who could get their tie traded away first.
This challenge doesn't really work for a variety of reasons: for one, cuddlechubby33 could simply choose to accept the first trade they got instead of waiting for something of value, and also because cuddlechubby33 has no way to prove to their buddies that the tie was actually traded away and not simply recycled or removed from their trade list.

I told them that if it's just for a challenge, they should probably stop promising a prize in return and simply ask for trades for the tie, because otherwise, people would definitely report them for scamming. They seemed understanding of this and told me they were going to do that instead. I almost thought this was just some big misunderstanding...

...until, as soon as I left their line of sight and more people arrived, they immediately started doing their scam again. I went up to try and ask them what they were doing, but they ignored me and continued to trade.

I suppose they ended up accepting somebody's trade, as they said "congrats" and an arctic wolf walked up and asked if they got the list. cuddlechubby33 then asked the arctic wolf to buddy them and come to their (locked) den so they could show their buddies.

I thought that was the end of my interaction with cuddlechubby33, but a few minutes later I found them in Sarepia Forest on a different server, hosting the same challenge, but with a slingshot instead, and both prizes they promised to the arctic wolf still on their trade list. Hm.
You can also notice that they didn't bother to change the copy/pasted advertisement for their scam, as they were still asking people to trade for the tie, despite the fact the tie had been traded away already in their previous scam.

I also encountered the arctic wolf who had allegedly won their challenge asking people to report cuddlechubby33 for scamming in Jamaa Township.

I asked them what they lost, and they responded that they were scammed of their yellow slingshot that cuddlechubby33 ended up putting on their trade list.

Please report cuddlechubby33 for scamming! Stay safe and always trade fairly!
