Hello jammers! Neon here with another scammer post. This scammer, Seasonalrainforest, was reported to us by a viewer named Abbster, using our scammer report form.
The scammer started out by saying that if Abbster would dance for a music video, they would give them a bad long. This sounds almost too good to be true, as usually people do not give out free rares.
The scammer then instructed Abbster to go to their Youtube channel, Narrow AJ, where there was a link to Animal Jam that Seasonalrainforest claimed to be the Spanish version of Animal Jam.
Seasonalrainforest was using a common method known as ‘Fake Animal Jam’ to attempt to steal abbster’s items. You can read more about this topic here. To put it simply, a jammer claims they will give another user rares if they do something for them, but that something involves going to a different language version of Animal Jam by following a link to the different language servers on their YouTube channel. In reality, the link leads to a fake website designed to look identical to Animal Jam. The image below shows the website that Narrow AJ had linked on their YouTube channel.
Even though the home screen may look very similar, this is not the real Spanish version of Animal Jam. If you enter your AJ username and password on the site, you will not login to the game - instead, the scammer running the website will now have your username and password. A noticeable difference is in the bottom right corner, it says ‘Powered by 000webhost’, indicating the website is fake, since it is run by a free webhosting service and not by AJHQ. The link to the website is also noticeably different from the link on Animal Jam's official page. This means that this is not the real Animal Jam, and a person made this website to impersonate Animal Jam.
The Seasonalrainforest account has been banned in the time since Abbster submitted this form a few days ago, but we still wanted to make a post about this to raise awareness of this scam and so that you can report the YouTube account Narrow AJ. Please remember that the only real Animal Jam is https://classic.animaljam.com/en/, and if you want to play in a different language you can change the language in the Parent Dashboard. You can also change the language from the dropdown menu at the very bottom of the page. Pictured below is the scammer’s Youtube Channel.
