Random Saturday Ep. 95: Pack Runs

Hello everyone! It's Rose writing this week's Random Saturday. 

This week's topic will be about Pack Runs on AJPW. 

Pack Runs are rotational events that are hosted every time of the year, which have different items to collect on the run, and they also give different prizes. A few examples of existing events include Crab-A-Rama, Delightful Deliveries, and Jolly Jamaalidays. 

During a Pack Run, which can consist of up to 8 members in the same pack, players can pick up the item designated to earn points towards a collective goal. 

Another way points can be earned is to perform a specific action or display a certain emote on a pothole. 

After points are collected, they can be dropped off at a platform, which counts them as part of the goal that the team should achieve. 

After these points build up individually, players can buy prizes with them — most of these prizes come in sets and match with each other!

Random Saturday Ep. 92: My Shop

Hello everyone! It's Rose again with this week's Random Saturday. This week, I'll be posting about the My Shop in AJPW. 

It was released in September 2019, and it can be bought for 100 Sapphires at Shoreline Decor. There are 6 color variants, which are red, blue, orange, black, green, and purple. 

Items can be sold for gems or sapphires in these user-owned shops for up to 15,000 gems or 1,500 sapphires. The shops are limited to 25 items per shop.

Players can rename their shop with a list of selected words; they consist of an optional adjective and a name for the kind of shop, which is mandatory.

This item is members-only and can only be used and placed in dens if a player has a AJPW or AJPC membership. My Shops are also not tradable.

Random Saturday Ep. 85: Codes

Hello again! It's Rose with this week's Random Saturday. Today, I'll be talking about codes in AJPW.

You can enter codes into the game by first clicking the gray cog at the top right of your screen to reach the "Settings" page. After you've done this, click the blue button on the left that says "Redeem Code".

Once you've done this, type in your code into the text box. But what if you don't know what code to use or if you don't have any?

Here's a list of codes that will earn you 750 Gems and are available, as of the date of the publishing of this post.

Random Saturday Ep. 84: Pet Expeditions

Hello! It's Rose with this week's Random Saturday. This week, I'll be talking about Pet Expeditions on AJPW! 

To start off, you can buy pets in Animal Jam and level them up using the Pet Station if you are a member. Once you've reached the required level for an expedition, you can go to Crystal Sands where this boat is: 

After you click on the boat, you have three different options for expeditions; each one requires a different level and energy and also takes different amounts of time. 

Select one that matches the level of the pet you are taking on an expedition and wait for your pet to return. 

Once your pet returns, it can bring sapphires, gems, items, and DNA vials, which are used to get exotic pets, back.

Random Saturday Ep. 82: Fireflies

Hello! It's Rose again with the blog's 82nd Random Saturday. In this week's post, I'll be going over a new special feature in AJPW.

With the new March 3rd update, fireflies have come into the game along with the Golden Snowflakes that I discussed in my last post.

They spawn in any land on the map, but only when the cycle reaches night. The fireflies look like this:

After you click on them, you will get a prize that can range from sapphires to clothing or den items. The gift will appear with the "You got a gift!" popup, similar to the Golden Snowflakes.

Random Saturday Ep. 79: Golden Snowflakes

Hello~! It's Rose with the blog's 79th Random Saturday. In this post, I'll be showing you guys a special feature in AJPW, the Golden Snowflake. 

These snowflakes spawn in Mt. Shiveer every few minutes, and can be found any time, as long as there is a snowstorm going on there. 

A small gift can be earned by clicking on them, and they look like this: 

After you click on them, you will get a small gift with the "You got a gift!" popup. 

You can receive anything from sapphires to clothing or den items from clicking on them.

Random Saturday Ep. 58: Monthly Login Gifts on PW

Hello, readers! It's Rose with your newest Random Saturday. This week's post is all about the monthly login gifts on Play Wild. 

Since the April update, instead of treasure hunts, there have been monthly login gifts that you unlock on a certain interval of the month. 

The login reward screen looks like this.

Each time you log in at 00:00 GMT, you get to spin the daily prize wheel for 100 gems, 5 sapphires, or a mystery den/clothing item. 

If you reach a certain milestone, you get a prize, it can be anything from pets, currency, to den and clothing items. 

On the last day of the month, if you have logged in every day, you can get items from the mystery chest that will give you new items! 

The most likely reason AJHQ is implementing this new system is to encourage Jammers to play more often by using new items as an incentive.

Random Saturday Ep. 54: Leilani on Moku'ahi

Hello, readers! It's Rose again with your newest Random Saturday. Although the topic of Moku'ahi has been done before, I'd like to focus on Leilani and the items she trades to Jammers in AJPW (or Animal Jam). 

First of all, Leilani is an NPC, or a non-player character. She stands at the top of Moku'ahi every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (in GMT). If you find her on these days, she will offer a new rare-tagged variant of an already existing item for another item that was previously available. When you trade Leilani, you will get a popup that asks for the item you need to get the rare variant. 

Some of these items are quite valued by Jammers because of the rarity of the item traded or because of the similar appearance to another popular or rare item. For example, Rare Ice Dragon Wings, although Leilani wanted Fancy Frozen Claws, a less popular item, are quite popular and are very wanted. 

I think that Leilani is a good addition to AJPW, and she's introduced more items and an easier way to work up the rarity system to newer Jammers.

Random Saturday Ep. 48: Traveling Salesman in PW

Hello, everyone! It's Rose again with your latest Random Saturday! Today, we're going to be covering a topic exclusive to Animal Jam (formerly known as Animal Jam - Play Wild), the Traveling Salesman, a shop that is only available in certain lands on certain days and is run by Arthur, a non-player character that is a purple-gray raccoon wearing a red fez. He can be found in Jamaa Township, Crystal Sands, Mt. Shiveer, and Coral Canyons.



The salesman was first spotted on June 10, 2017. AJHQ first announced his arrival in Animal Jam - Play Wild through the Jamaa Journal in June 2017.



Every few weeks, he sells items that are of a different color than the original variant in his shop, there are 6 items for non-members and 3 for members, 9 in total.

Since he comes every few weeks, be sure to check Jamaa to get his items! Good luck with finding Arthur.

Random Saturday Ep 44: Tree-Planting Shops

Hello, everyone! It's Rose with my first post as a member of the AJSASS! I want to thank everyone at the AJSASS that helped approve my application form, to help me succeed as a scam-catcher and as a contributor to this blog. Without further ado, let's get onto this week's Random Saturday. The topic is the new Tree-Planting Shop that has come in with the new Animal Jam and Animal Jam - Play Wild update.



In Animal Jam (for PC), the Tree-Planting Shops are in multiple places, signified by a dark orange adobe-colored banner with an acacia tree drawn on.



On Play Wild, the Tree-Planting Shop looks like a default My Shop in green, except with a sign saying "Tree-Planting Shop".



In Animal Jam, the trees are fully grown and can be selected.





However, in Play Wild, you can only purchase a Tree Seed Packet, which is the only item in the Tree-Planting Shop, and wait to see the sapling grow after being placed in a den.

 
 

The trees in Play Wild grow into 6 different variants, the Acacia abyssinica (Acacia Tree), 
Grevillea robusta (Oak Tree), Faidherbia albida (White Acacia Tree), Tabebuia (Tabebuia/Trumpet Tree), Jacaranda cuspidifolia (Jacaranda Tree), and Dracaena ombet (Nubian Dragon Tree). 



Animal Jam HQ's purpose for the new tree planting update is to raise awareness of deforestation and environmental harm that comes with not just deforestation, but also other factors that the environment has been exposed to because of people.
