Random Saturday Ep 09: Den Maps

Hey all, Jade here, with episode 9 of Random Saturdays! Today's topic will be den maps.

For those who don't know, den maps are a commonly used tactic to show a full den in a single picture, often to show off den decoration. This strategy can't be easily used to create maps of other areas, unfortunately, as the icons on your screen are difficult to cut out.

There are quite a few pictures in this post, so the rest is under the cut! Click read more to continue!

To create a map, you begin by going into edit mode in your den and taking a small item, such as a Birthstone, and dragging it around the den. This allows for the edit buttons and bar to disappear. You take screenshots as you go along, making sure to overlap them on all edges.

You then crop your screenshots to only the Animal Jam window, then stitch them together in a program such as Photoshop, or any other program that can use layers. Continue fitting together the puzzle and matching up pixels until you have all your pieces lined up, then cut off any extra space and save the image as a .png file!

Making these maps can be a bit difficult, but it's nice to have them once you're done! If you're considering making one and need a bit more of a detailed tutorial, just look up something like "den maps animal jam". If you're not sure which tutorial to use, Snowyclaw has a lovely one on YouTube that I would recommend.

Well, I hope you've learned a bit more about what you can do with your dens and screenshots today. Thanks for reading!
