Random Tuesday Ep 06: Tunnel Town

Disclaimer: Random Tuesdays have been discontinued and merged with Random Saturdays.

Hey everyjammer! It's me again, and in today's Random Tuesday, I will be going into more detail of one of WildWorks' apps, Tunnel Town.

So, Tunnel Town is a free app that is available for everyone to download. However, there are in-app purchases that can be made inside the game. Tunnel Town is essentially a breeder game. You start off with a couple of bunnies, and then breed them to get more. Of course, they can be bought in the Tunnel Town store, at a significantly higher price.

This post is kind of long, so the rest is under the cut! Click read more to continue!

First things first: how do you breed bunnies? Well, the answer is simple: put two bunnies on the dance floor, and let them dance! After their dance is complete, you will have one of the possible offspring listed on the screen. However, it is important to note that only bunnies level 4 and above can dance. Obtaining your offspring is purely by luck. There are multiple possible offspring you can get per dance, and what you actually get is decided randomly. Some bunnies are rarer than others. These bunnies are harder to get through breeding with the combination of bunnies you put on the dance floor. They come with a 'rare' tag at the bottom of the bunny on the dance floor screen.

Wait! You said that they must be level 4 and above to dance! How do I level them up? Well, to level a bunny up, you have to feed it. Tunnel Town gives you the option to plant crops (which is the cheaper option), and wait for them to grow before it can be harvested. Alternatively, if you don't want to wait, you can buy some from the store at a higher price. Typically, more expensive crops yield more experience, and energy.

Wait! What is energy? Energy is required for you to mine gems, and dig tunnels. Interestingly, energy is not required for bunnies to dance. Energy can be gained via two means: resting, and feeding. Bunnies can regain energy by eating some crops you feed them. They also gain experience as you feed them. Alternatively, you can just let them rest and they will slowly regain their energy at a constant rate. You can speed this up by letting them sit on a chair, lay on a bed, or watch television.

Where do I put all these things? That's where the digging comes into play. You can tell your bunnies to dig the soil through the 'dig' option in the game. This way, you can expand your bunny burrow, and reach other areas you previously have not reached. However, it should be noted that some areas require a specific player level to be unlocked. Also, the deeper you go into the soil, the more energy it takes to dig.

What is player level? You can player experience by completeing quests, breeding bunnies and harvesting crops. The higher your level, the deepee you can go under the soil. Also, more bunnies will be unlocked the higher your level.

Now, let me move on to gem mining. Like all kinds of breeder games, you need currency. In Tunnel Town, the currency is gems. Gems are obtained by mining on jewels scattered around in the soil. There are in total 2 sapphires, 2 emeralds, 1 ruby and 1 diamond. The number of bunnies you can assign to each jewel varies. It is 1 for a sapphire, 2 for an emerald, and 3 for the ruby and diamond. Now, sapphires are found closer to the surface of the soil, followed by the emeralds, ruby, and finally diamond. It takes more time and energy for the deeper jewels to be mined to their maximum capacity then the shallower ones. Deeper jewels also have a greater maximum capacity than the shallower ones.

Now, I can finally talk about bunny types. In the game, there are 8 bunny types: arctic, mountain, desert, ocean, garden, grassland, tropical and seasonal. Every bunny in the game is assigned to one of the 8 types that suits them best. For example, the sun bunny is assigned to the desert type, while the seafoam bunny is assigned to the ocean type. You can yield different offspring by breeding bunnies from different types. If you want a bunny of the same type as the parents, you may want to breed two bunnies of the same type together. However, to get a bunny of a certain type, you must make sure that at least one of the two bunnies on the dance floor is of that type. If not, obtaining that type is impossible.

Finally, I'll talk about decorations. If you have spare gems you are willing to spend, you may purchase decorations and activities from the store. You can decorate your burrow with decorations you buy, and put some of your idle bunnies to play some activities.

Well, that concludes my summary of Tunnel Town. Tune in next Tuesday for your next episode of Random Tuesdays!
