Random Saturday Ep 25: Parties

Hello, this is another Random Saturday, about parties.

Parties are events you can go to by selecting the balloon & hat icon from the top of your screen, and then choosing the party you want to go to. Parties last for half an hour each, and every time one ends, another begins.

There are a couple categories of party. Some occur year-round, like the Dinner Party and Call of the Alphas. Many are seasonal, with seasons including AJ’s birthday, the end of summer, Valentine’s Day, St. Patricks Day, New Years’, etc. Seasonal parties are generally themed around the season they show up in.

Some parties are exclusive to people who have either specific animals, types of animals, or pets. These include penguins, horses, monkeys, bunnies, all types of wolf, flying animals, any pets, underwater animals, and whatever the animal of the Chinese New Year is currently for that party.

Most parties have shops, where they sell items related to the party theme. The only parties that don't have these are Best Guess and Call of the Alphas.

Some parties are unique compared to the others. There is the Paradise Party and Call of the Alphas, both of which have Journey Book pages. Call of the Alpha’s page has 3 sections, and thus three prizes (which I think are creepy, but eh). There’s also Best Guess, which operates like a game, where you have to pick whether a statement is true or false, and you get gems if you’re right.

There are also player parties. For 1 diamond, members can create their own party, choosing the music, setting, and name. There are 8 settings, and each has its own shop and theme. Parties last 1 hour.

Bye!

animaljamplaywildfree (Instagram)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

What's up guys! Now for an actual content post! Today, I bring you animaljamplaywildfree, an instagram page that claims to be able to give you free stuff.

First things first: sites that claim they can do this is mostly a scam. It is even more so if they ask for your username and password. If you give them your username and password, you just gave them full access to your account, so don't do that.

This is their description. They claim to be the official aj, but I don't think they are. AJ should not ask you for your password. Also, most official instagram pages will have a blue checkmark beside the bolded name. This one does not have it. Furthermore, it asks for your username and password, and as I mentioned before, don't give your username and password to anyone you just met on the internet.

This is their last post on 6 May 2018. Their post content was about a person dming them, and being satisfied after they gave them their items. However, scenes like that could be staged, so I don't recommend that you believe them straight away.

That is all from me now. Until next time!

Society Update: Update to the COC

What's up every---

Wait. It's not posting day.

Well, I do need to do a quick update to the COC. As of now, we have had quite a number of members who were removed from the society due to inactivity. They can choose to return, but they will be under probation for a while before we release them from probation. If they get removed due to inactivity for 3 times, they will be not be allowed to rejoin.

Note that this does not apply to members who willingly quit, or told us beforehand.

More details can be found in the last point in the COC.

That's all, until next post!

Invisiblityx (YouTube)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey all, Jade here with another scammer post! This one's from YouTube.

Their YouTube display name is Invisibilityx and they posted a video of them scamming various items three days ago.

The video is titled "Animal Jam - Scamming Orange Short", and they do indeed scam an orange short Spiked Collar in the video. However, they can also be seen scamming four other items- a Rare Knight Helmet, a yellow Beard, a pink Furry Hat, and a red Arctic Hood

This video appears to be the only one on their channel of them scamming, so they may be relatively new to the scamming scene. If you want to see the video, feel free to look their channel up, but do be aware that there is a swear word in the description and in some of their other videos, so if you're not comfortable with that, don't go to their channel.

Sadly, their YouTube username isn't the same as their Animal Jam one, and they have their Animal Jam user blocked out in their video, so you can't report them for scamming, but if you see anyone displaying suspicious behaviors be careful, and always be wary of giveaways! Stay safe out there, Jammers.

Random Saturday Ep 24: Ads in AJPW

What's up everyone! Today, I bring you the next installment of Random Saturdays! Today, I'm going to talk about the presence of ads in AJPW. Without further ado, let's go!

So, AJPW recently decided to introduce ads into the game. It's not the kind of ad that pops up oncd every certain time interval. Rather, it's the kind of ad that you can choose to watch in order to earn rewards.

At the time of writing this, I have found two places where we can watch ads for rewards.

First, we can watch ads in treasure hunts to earn more keys to unlock more boxes. Generally, we are allowed to watch one ad per animal we own, and each ad gives us 3 more keys. If we have a lot of animals, watching these ads will be a good way to collect more experience points for levelling up, if we have the time and patience to do so.

The other place where we can watch ads for rewards is the sapphire shop. You may have noticed a new, blue chest next to the place where we can buy music in the sapphire shop. That chest will give us one random item from the random item list for every ad we watch. The good thing is, that sapphires are included in the random item list, so it is possible to earn sapphires from watching ads.

The ads that we can watch are generally child-friendly. Mostly, they are ads for new children's toys. Occasionally, I see ads for a game like 1010.

I personally feel that this is a good addition to the game. It is yet another way for non-members to grind for sapphires. Also, rares and sapphire shop items are also included in the random item list, which is another huge plus. All in all, the ads are not annoying pop-up ads, and I feel that it is a good change to the game.

That's all from me today! Till next time!

scralkx (YouTube)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hello, everyone. This post is about a scammer I found on Youtube, with the channel name scralkx.

This channel has posted 11 videos, 10 of which are of them scamming. The last video was 6 months ago, but due to the long intervals between videos, it's hard to tell if they're active or not.

The username is hidden in every video, and they're most likely using an alt. The alt in question has a wolf as an animal, however the clothing and pattern of the wolf changes from video to video. It's also possible that it's multiple people, as they refer to themselves as a collective sometimes.

This channel has a number of fans, who congratulate them on their scamming and ask to go scam together sometimes. There are also a number of people who are anti-scamming there, but the channel and the fans mostly just laugh them off and ignore them. The videos have roughly equal likes and dislikes, though.

They mostly do trust trading and fake giveaways, and often appear to be successful, although they might only post videos of the ones where they scam valuable items.

Stay safe, and don't get scammed. Bye!

sweetcupcake128 (AJPC)

Do not attempt to track down or harass any of the scammers we post. We only ask that you report them, and maybe block them.

Hey all, Jade here with the latest scammer post! Today's scammer isn't necessarily a scammer, but they did still mess up a lot of people's accounts, so I wanted to make a post to warn you all about this kind of scheme.

I found this scammer in Jamaa Township, advertising a "typing contest" in their den in order to give away a black short Spiked Collar. I went to their den and arrived to the sight of everyone speculating whether the giveaway would be real or not. Soon enough, the scammer came back to their den and announced two rules before starting the game:

No drama, and be happy for the winner. Honestly, at this point in the giveaway, it seemed pretty legit to me, so I decided to play along.

The first word they gave us was "banana". Once everyone had typed it out, they sent the next words for us to type, "hungry hearts".

At this point, I was in the lead, and I was actually feeling pretty optimistic about my chances! Just goes to show that no matter how good you may feel about something, you should always watch your back in case it turns into something you didn't want.

They proceeded to tell us that there were only two words left, and we were going to type them out one at a time.

The first word was "as", and as soon as everyone had that one typed, they told us the next word was "whole". Now, as you may notice, the words "as" and "whole" combine to form a not-so-great word. As everyone finished typing "whole" and sent their messages, the Animal Jam chat filters caught what those words could mean and automatically suspended their accounts. All in all, about seven people were tricked into sending the message and subsequently suspended. There were about five of us left in the den who didn't fall for it, but we were promptly locked out.

So, the lesson to be learned from this post? Don't trust random Jammers! Think before you type, realize when something doesn't sound right, and above all, just don't care about giveaways too much! You can save yourself from being tricked like those seven Jammers by simply thinking about what you're doing before you do it instead of just typing blindly on account that you want rares. Thanks for reading, and stay safe out there, Jammers!

Monthly Update - June

What's up everyone! Today I bring you the monthly update of June!

First, members will be automatically removed from the society should they fail to post all assigned posts of the month. The code of conduct has been updated to reflect this new rule.

Next, I regret to report that Gamma Tiger has been removed from the society due to the above new rule. Though, it is possible for them to reapply via the application form.

Next, I apologise on behalf of the whole society for the low posting this month. Sorry bout that!

Finally, I'd like to inform you that postings will be reduced this month (July). This is due to the lack of members we currently have.

That's all the news today. Signing off,
-Dew
